PLOT:
After a series of events, the lives of a security operative and the female assassin she's tracking become inextricably linked.

season 1 - 
When a Russian politician is murdered, a bored MI5 security officer is tasked with protecting the only witness and soon finds herself on a collision course with a violent and extraordinary assassin. Eve is given the opportunity to lead a secret MI6 unit tasked with tracking down Villanelle, who is becoming increasingly reckless, much to the discomfort of her bosses. After a killing in Berlin, Eve and Bill travel there to investigate, unaware of how close they are to Villanelle. A grieving Eve learns about the apparent existence of a mole, while Villanelle and two other assassins are tasked with killing a member of British intelligence. After a terrifying close call with Villanelle, Eve has the mole ensconced in a safe house, but Villanelle is not far away. Villanelle is smuggled into a Russian prison on a secret mission, while Eve and Carolyn travel to the country in search of information. Villanelle finds herself trapped in a dangerous situation, while Eve pursues a potential lead. As Villanelle takes a hostage as a bargaining chip, Eve learns more about the larger conspiracy and remains determined to track down Villanelle.

season 2 - 
Eve is reeling from her act of violence against Villanelle and doesn't know whether she is alive or dead. A paranoid and injured Villanelle manages to get herself to the hospital for treatment. Carolyn approaches Eve with an opportunity. Villanelle finds a Good Samaritan to take her in, while Carolyn introduces Eve to her new team. Villanelle's circumstances are looking bleak, Eve makes a dangerous deal with an old acquaintance. After the discovery of another dead body, Eve and her new team make a break in their case. The MI6 team makes a pact with the devil in order to get information from The Ghost. Villanelle uses her unrivaled infiltration skills to immerse herself in the world of a new target. Eve may have worrying competition for Villanelle's affections. Eve's mission is disastrously compromised, Carolyn leaves Eve's future in her own hands.

season 3 - 
After Eve is shot by Villanelle, she's trying to move on. Villanelle is also moving on, until she is approached by someone from her past. Carolyn is being undermined at work and Kenny is looking for more information about The Twelve. Eve and Carolyn are reeling. Eve strikes up an unlikely alliance with Kenny's colleagues at the Bitter Pill. Villanelle finds that management isn't all it's cracked up to be. Villanelle agrees to a job which will take her back to London. Carolyn's Moscow contacts come in useful when Eve and the Bitter Pill team unravel a potential lead to The Twelve. Konstantin finds himself under pressure from all sides. Eve is trying to patch things up with Niko. Villanelle receives good news about her upcoming promotion but can't shake the feeling there's still something missing from her life. Dasha seeks a solution to Villanelle's erratic behavior. Villanelle visits her family in Russia, and while the quirky reunion starts as an opportunity to reconnect and answer unknowns about her childhood, a profound moment of clarity sends her on a disturbing and downward spiral. As the investigation continues, Carolyn finds out that information is being withheld by those close to her. Eve finds a lead which might bring her closer to Villanelle, but Villanelle has had enough and decides on a different path. Lack of progress in the investigation is frustrating Carolyn. Eve searches for a clue to Villanelle's whereabouts. Villanelle and Dasha tram together for a kill. Konstantin is crumbling under pressure. Konstantin tries to run. Eve and Villanelle try to work out what the future may hold for them.

season 4 - 
After Eve and Villanelle's exchange on the bridge, Eve is on a revenge mission. Villanelle finds a brand-new community in an attempt to prove she's not a monster. While Villanelle's quest for change goes awry, Eve locates Helene, who may be useful in her revenge mission against The Twelve. Rejected by Eve, Villanelle seeks help elsewhere. Eve uncovers a name of The Twelve's top tier whilst Carolyn discovers promising intel of her own. Eve struggles to identify her lead in The Twelve. Villanelle gets her mojo back, she decides to be good by embracing what she's good at, killing. Carolyn discovers an old acquaintance in Cuba and decides to go rogue. Eve delves into the past of her target and unearths some secrets. Villanelle re-embraces killing, deciding to kill those who oppressed her. Carolyn tracks down a top member of The Twelve. Eve and Villanelle reunite before pursuing their own missions, which leads Villanelle to another assassin in The Twelve. Eve moves closer to achieving her revenge mission. Carolyn faces a ghost from her past. Eve takes on an even bigger revenge mission against The Twelve and realizes she may need Villanelle's help. Villanelle has a dalliance with the new assassin. Carolyn's latest string of intel may lead her home. Eve and Villanelle focus on making a seismic stab at The Twelve, risking their own lives. Carolyn arrives home as a traitor, she has a finite amount of time to use her intel as leverage to get herself back in the game.
